What is LLLT?
LLLT (Low Level Laser Therapy) is the application of red and near infra-red light over injuries or lesions to improve wound and soft tissue healing, reduce inflammation and give relief for both acute and chronic pain. First developed in 1967, it is now commonly referred to as LLLT.

HOW IT WORKS
When cells are stressed, nitric oxide (NO) inhibits oxygen consumption by mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase. This reduces production of ATP and causes oxidative stress leading to increased inflammation and reduced production of ATP. Cells need to have ATP because it’s the gasoline that powers all living things. ATP is a high energy nucleotide which acts as an instant source of energy within the cell.
LLLT displaces nitric oxide (NO) from cytochrome c oxidase thereby reducing inflammation and restoring ATP production, helping tissues heal more quickly.
