Got a Peach Fuzzy Face?

What is "Peach Fuzz"?

Peach fuzz isn't the same as a man beard, it's actually called 'Vellus' hair, as opposed to 'Terminal' hair which are thick, strong, pigmented hairs. Vellus hair does not have a deep follicle, it grows out of a very shallow follicle. Terminal hair grows from the scalp, eyebrows, underarms, pubic area, and other parts of the body.

Peach fuzz, as the name implies, is finer, shorter, softer and very often lighter in color, and in the majority of cases it’s only visible at very close range.

How Do I Remove Peach Fuzz?

One misconception for treating Vellus hair is the use of Laser.

Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment in the hair, and because Vellus hair is light in color, Laser hair removal cannot target the pigment in the hair to destroy the follicle.

Dermaplaning is an effective method!

Using a scalpel blade, dead skin cells are removed from the epidermis (top layer of the skin).

Along with exfoliating, dermaplaning also removes the unwanted vellus hairs from the face.

You'll see a difference after the first treatment.

Not only will you achieve smoother, brighter skin but you’ll be free of peach fuzz and despite popular belief, the hair will not grow back thicker.

The whole process is painless.

The treatment itself only takes 30 minutes, but the advantages are endless.

Dermaplaning Benefits

1. An instantly brighter and smoother complexion. Dermaplaning gives your skin a soft and silky texture and noticeably brighter tones immediately following the procedure. These results can last up to four weeks.

2. Smoother, more even makeup application.

Removing the peach fuzz, excess oil and dead skin from your face helps liquid and powder makeup penetrate the skin faster and absorb evenly into your skin for flawless coverage.

3. Higher cell turnover.

As we age, our cell turnover rate begins to decline and fewer new skin cells are produced. Dermaplaning helps stimulate skin cell development by eliminating buildup of dead skin on the outer layer.

4. Pain-free exfoliated skin.

Unlike other skin treatments, dermaplaning is a relaxing, refreshing, and painless procedure and is beneficial for all skin types. Within minutes, you’ll notice brighter, tighter, luminous skin without the use of abrasive chemicals.

5. Fewer acne breakouts.

Removing the dead skin from the surface eliminates excess oil and unclogs pores helps the skin fight against acne breakouts. The treatment can also reduce the appearance of acne scars.

6. Diminished appearance of fine lines.

Dermaplaning is a terrific anti-aging procedure for those wanting to reduce the look of wrinkles and fine lines. Removing the top layer of skin helps to revitalize the new skin underneath, resulting in a radiant, more youthful appearance.
